An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Barker, the 1928 George Fitzmaurice family relationship romantic circus carnival melodrama ("Father love and daring romance behind the scenes of a side show!"; "From play by Kenyon Nicholson") starring Milton Sills, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Dorothy Mackaill, Betty Compson (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sylvia Ashton, and the "Hawaiian Trio" (non-Hawaiian actor Gladden James with two real Hawaiian non-actors). Note that the Hawaiian Trio was uncredited, but we have auctioned a still that shows them. If anyone knows more about them or the role they played in this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: This poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great!

Condition: No condition recorded. the poster was kraftbacked (probably as the movie came out). It has preserved the poster quite well, although the poster is rippled throughout. If the poster is removed from the kraftbacking and linenbacked by a talented professional, it would look incredible and there would be little restoration anywhere on the poster!
