An Original 1929 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Champagner (released in the U.S. in 1930 as "Bright Eyes"), the 1929 Geza von Bolvary Austrian/English romantic love triangle melodrama (about a girl who works in the kitchen of a nightclub, and she is in love with the headwaiter, but he is in love with the beautiful singer, but she is kept by a senile millionaire!) starring Betty Balfour, Jack Trevor, Fritz Greiner, Marcel Vibert, and Vivian Gibson. Note that this movie was an English/Austrian co-production, that was released in those countries in 1929. To confuse matters greatly, star Betty Balfour made a second movie in 1929 that was an English production called "Champagne", and that was Alfred Hitchcock's first directed movie! This movie was released in the U.S. in 1930 under the title of "Bright Eyes", which is also confusing, because that title was used in 1934 for a Shirley Temple movie. But this "Champagner" 1929 movie has no connection to the 1929 Alfred Hitchcock "Champagne" movie, other than that Betty Balfour starred in both! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
