(Learn More) Harvey, the classic 1950 Henry Koster mental illness fantasy comedy ("The wonderful Pulitzer Prize play... Becomes one of the great motion pictures of our time!"; "From the play written by Mary Chase"; about a man and his attempt to have people come to terms with his 6 foot, imaginary rabbit named Harvey; his sister tries to have him committed, but is he insane, or is Harvey somehow "real"?) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Josephine Hull (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Charles Drake, Cecil Kellaway, Jesse White, Victoria Horne, Wallace Ford, Peggy Dow, and Clem Bevans NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Rene Lefebvre Important Added Info: Note that when this classic movie was released in France, the French distributor obviously thought it would be a giant hit, because they prepared one of the most elaborate French pressbooks we have ever seen! Not only does it have 20 pages, including two pages showing five different posters, but it also has many heavily illustrated pages throughout, including full-page headshots of each star. The cover has a "tipped-in" color image of Stewart that we have not seen before, and the back cover has cool different art of Stewart as well. In addition, this pressbook comes with an ad supplement and a herald! Note that, unlike later French pressbooks, this French pressbook is much like a U.S. pressbook and DOES include poster images. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this French pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. Learn More about condition grades
