An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Painted People, thw 1924 Clarence G. Badger silent romantic love triangle comedy (about a man and woman who grow up as best friends in a small town, and they each lust after the most eligible man and woman in town, and after many adventures, they each succeed, but just as they are about to get married, each realizes they would be better off with their childhood best friend) starring Colleen Moore, Ben Lyon, Charlotte Merriam, Joseph Striker, and Charles Murray. Note that Clara Bow originally played the part of Colleen Moore's younger sister, and Moore was rightfully worried that Bow might steal the picture, and Moore tried to sabotage Bow by not letting her have close ups. Bow then pretended to be sick, and had to be removed from the movie, which meant that all the film shot to that point had to be re-shot! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Ben Lyon! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: fair to good. The signature has smudged and there are many smudges scattered throughout the card, with some tears and paper loss in the blank borders. There are tape repairs on the back (see our images).
