An Original Vintage Newspaper Supplement (measures 10 1/2" x 12 3/4" [27 x 32 cm]; 24 pages) (Learn More)

Universal Studios (also referred to as Universal Pictures or simply Universal) is an American film studio which was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles O. Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, Robert H. Cochrane, and Jules Brulatour. It is the oldest surviving film studio in the United States, and the world's fourth oldest after Gaumont, Pathe and Nordisk Film. It is located in Universal City, California, and is one of Hollywood's "Big Six" studios. Universal also owns several film-related theme parks and resorts, including: Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Japan and more!
Important Added Info: Note that Universal Studios at this time not only owned Universal Pictures, which made movies, but they also owned Universal Television, Decca Records, and they had other divisions as well! They had many top movie stars under contract at this time including Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, and James Stewart. They made TV shows that included The Munsters, and Decca Records had albums by Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, and many more. They created this cool newspaper supplement because they were justifiably proud of everything they were doing, and the supplement includes a pop-up with a "tower of stars"!

Note: We have 12 images of this newspaper supplement, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2. Note that this auction also includes the printed envelope this item originally came with!

Condition: very good.
