An Original Vintage Linenbacked One-Sheet Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A Columbia Phantasy Cartoon, a 1939 stock poster for Columbia's line of short animated animation cartoon fantasies. Note the large blank area at the bottom of the poster for adding in the title of the cartoon the theater would play that day. By not imprinting a title, a frugal theater owner could reuse this poster over and over! But we don't know exactly what cartoons they were advertising or showing, and Columbia was not especially big on cartoons at this time (it does not help that the characters pictured on this poster are not recognizable as being known cartoon characters). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold and small tears and paper loss on the top horizontal fold and the top corner of the vertical fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges, with a lot of pinholes around each crossfold, and smudges in the bottom yellow area. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
