An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 34" [62 x 86 cm]) (Learn More) Under Two Flags, the 1922 Tod Browning silent French Foreign Legion romantic love triangle adventure melodrama ("The Picture Magnificent"; "From the immortal novel by Ouida"; about an Englishman who joins the French Foreign Legion because he has taken the blame for a crime his brother committed, and he has to contend with a ruthless commanding officer, and he has to choose between a sleazy nightclub singer named "Cigarette" and a refined Englishwoman) starring Priscilla Dean (as Cigarette), James Kirkwood, John Davidson, Stuart Holmes, and Ethel Grey Terry. Note that this movie was remade in 1936 with Ronald Colman and Claudette Colbert in the lead roles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: H. Roth Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold, minor wear on the foldlines, and some smudges and stains in the left and right blank borders, with a few scattered in the rest of the background areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed on to a very thin linen with no excess, and either no or very little restoration was performed. If I owned this poster, I would surely have it removed from the thin linen, and backed by a talented professional. After the touch up of the defects described above, the poster will look fantastic!
