Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this one-sheet, and the last one was 9 years ago, when it sold for $1,250! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had pretty minor wear on the folds. It had a tear starting in the background to the left of the top of the first "D" of "DEAD" and extending down across the middle of that "D". There was a small tear in the middle of the same "D". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, and the tears described above were very well restored, but after the poster was backed, it acquired light brown stains on the back of the top of the linen and also a light brown stain in the top of the excess linen that extends into the blank border and another brown stain to the left of that, that is in the blank border and extends down slightly into the image, but it is not very noticeable there. If I owned this great and rare poster, I would immediately have a professional remove it from the old linen and re-back it, and afterwards, it will look great, but bear the above in mind before bidding.
