An Autographed Letter (measures 5" x 7 1/4"; 2 pages) (Learn More) George Stevens Jr. is a director and producer from the 1950s to the present. He was a founder of the American Film Institute (AFI) and also helped launch the Kennedy Center Honors, and has produced many TV specials (some relating to the above, and many others as well).Some of his works include: The Diary of Anne Frank, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and The Thin Red Line. As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 88! Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by George Stevens Jr.! He sent it to his personal friend David Mallery, with many personal comments, and telling that he has enclosed a photograph. There is also a separate note on Stevens' stationery from "Adrian", about another photo (see our images). Note that this letter comes from the estate of David Mallery. He was a professor of cinematography at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, from the 1960s into the 1990s. He was a founding member of the AFI (American Film Institute), and a member of the Motion Picture Academy. He was a film critic who wrote many reviews for many publications, and hosted a TV show where he interviewed directors, actors, and others involved in the film industry. Condition: good.
