An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Navy Blue Days, the 1925 Scott Pembroke & Joe Rock silent sailor comedy short (Stan is a lowly sailor who tries to get his chief to take him to a fancy dinner, and when the chief refuses, Stan goes anyway!) starring Stan Laurel, Julie Leonard, Glen Cavender, and Zalla Zarana. Note that this comedy short was made after Stan Laurel had been starring solo for several years, and he was still several years away from his giant success after teaming with Oliver Hardy. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is something very unusual about this lobby card. It measures exactly 11" x 14", but it does not appear to be trimmed, and yet, the right edge of the image appears to be trimmed. The most likely explanation is that the card was printed slightly off center, and that approximately 1/8" was left on the left border that should have been added to the right border, due to the incorrect trimming when it was created. We have never seen another example of this card to compare it to, and any items on this title are incredibly rare! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. As described above, it appears the card was printed slightly off center. It had been folded down the middle and it had creases and scuffs along that fold, with tiny pinholes in the corners. Overall, the lobby card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
