Date Sold 4/11/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Autographed Special Poster (measures 17 1/2" x 22 1/4" [44 x 57 cm]) (Learn More) Clarence E. Mulford's Hop-A-Long Cassidy, the 1995 limited edition tribute poster published by Dick Feiner in 1995 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of William Boyd's birth and the 60th anniversary of the first Hop-A-Long Cassidy film. This poster features art of William Boyd on horseback by Jack Thurston. It was printed in a limited edition of 2,000 posters which were all signed and numbered by Grace Bradley Boyd (William Boyd's wife, and she signed as "Mrs. Hopalong Cassidy"). Artist: Jack Thurston Important Added Info: This is a very rare uncut printer's test poster (often referred to as a "printer's proof")! Before a poster was printed in large quantities, the printer would print a limited number of posters as "test" posters. Because they needed to be shown to people at the studio, people in the art department, the stars, etc, they would print a number of test posters and distribute them to these people. Some of them would be fully trimmed, but often they would leave the color chart on the left edge of many of the posters, which added an extra inch to the width of the poster (which explains why the poster measures 17 1/2" x 22 1/4" [44 x 57 cm]). Once these printer's test posters were shown to the various people in a position to "OK" them, the printer would print the full print run of the posters. Not only is a printer's test poster far more rare than a regular poster, but it is also 100% genuine as there is no fear of purchasing a reproduction! Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Grace Bradley Boyd! Note that our consignor has been a memorabilia dealer for the past 30 years, and he tells us that he is certain this autograph is authentic. In some cases he obtained the autographs in person, and in other cases (like with contracts and agreements), it is obvious the signatures are authentic, but he vouches for the authenticity of every item that he has consigned to us, and we also feel certain that the autographs are authentic. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
