A Vintage Autographed Paperback Book (measures 4 1/4" x 7" [11 x 18 cm]; 156 pages) (Learn More) Talk of the Town, the 1964 Joan Ellis sexploitation novel ("Sharon found out how simple it was to become the most popular girl in town") Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by the author, Joan Ellis! Note that this is one of a collection of 31 sexploitation paperback books from the 1950s and 1960s from a new collection we were recently consigned (see below for more), and are auctioning in 31 separate auctions. These are from the repressed 1950s and 1960s, from the days when "respectable" people had few outlets for non-traditional sexual desires, and these "sleaze" paperbacks covered those subjects in depth! They always had lurid covers, and they were often sold "under the counter" (where you had to ask for them). The sexual revolution of the late 1960s made these books pretty irrelevant, but they are a fascinating reminder of repressed sexual attitudes of the 1960s! In 2018, we were consigned a collection of around 300 of these books, and we auctioned them from then until 2021. Now we have been consigned a new collection that we will be auctioning every four weeks, with around 30 in each auction. There is only one of each title, so if you don't purchase a specific book, don't expect to see it again, because there is not another example of it in this collection! Condition: good.
