An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (40x60; measures 40" x 60" [102 x 152 cm]) (Learn More) Bonnie and Clyde (released in some countries as "Gangster Story"), the classic 1967 Arthur Penn (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic action gangster crime biography ("They're young... They're in love ...and they kill people."; "They met in 1930. She was stark naked, yelling at him out the window while he tried to steal her mother's car. In a matter of minutes they robbed a store, fired a few shots and then stole somebody else's car. At that point, they had not yet been introduced."; "They were the strangest damned gang you ever heard of."; "They put together the strangest damned gang you ever heard of."; "Written by David Newman and Robert Benton"; "Clyde was the leader. Bonnie wrote poetry. C.W. was a Myrna Loy fan who had a bluebird tattooed on his chest. Buck told corny jokes and carried a Kodak. Blanche was a preacher's daughter who kept her fingers in her ears during the gunfights. They played checkers and photographed each other incessantly. On Sunday nights, they listened to Eddie Cantor on the radio. All in all, they killed 18 people. They were the strangest damned gang you ever heard of."; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the real life exploits of Bonnie & Clyde) starring Warren Beatty (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Clyde Barrow), Faye Dunaway (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Bonnie Parker), Michael J. Pollard (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Gene Hackman (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Estelle Parsons (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and Denver Pyle NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, and that was 9 years ago, when it sold for $320! Note that for this classic movie, Warner Bros. printed a "regular" 40x60 that looks like the one-sheet (as does virtually every other poster on this movie). But they also created this special 40x60 (which, like the other, is printed on one-sheet-like paper). This one was for the specific theater that had the "southwestern premiere". But apparently, the exact date of the premiere was not set when the poster was printed (and possibly they had decided which theater would have the premiere), because there is no specific theater name on the poster, and a space has been left to add the exact date of the premiere! We have never seen or heard of this cool special premiere 40x60 before! Note that we wonder if the designer of this poster was intentionally being deceptive in putting "SEE THEM LIVE" in all capital letters, because reading that, you would think it meant you were seeing the stars in person, but when you read it with the rest of the sentence, you realize it is that you are solely watching the movie. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny creases, scuffs, and some fine surface paper loss on the folds, with a diagonal crease by the crossfold above the "SEE THEM LIVE" tagline. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but since it was backed, it acquired a number of small faint brown stains around the edges of the excess linen, with a few in the poster. Please bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
