Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this window card, and that card has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. Prior to paperbacking, the window card was folded down the middle. It had tears and paper loss along that fold and smudges and scuffs in the solid colored areas, with some tears and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the window card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The window card was pretty well backed, but after it was backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired a diagonal crease in the bottom left corner that affects both the poster and the backing, and also two 1 1/2" tears to the right of that, extending into the bottom of the image. It also acquired a scratch at the bottom of the Devil's nose and into the black background. If I owned this card, I would surely have a talented restorer do additional restoration, either with or without re-backing it, but bear all the above in mind before bidding.
