An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ostrov Sokrovishch (released in the U.S. as "Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island"), the 1971 Yevgeni Fridman Russian treasure hunting pirate adventure melodrama ("Gangway mates! Long John Silver and Jim Hawkins are on a wild adventure!"; "K. Gordan Murray presents Robert Louis Stevenson's immortal classic!"; "SAIL with the pirates on a holiday treasure hunt! SEE...Jim Hawkins discover the treasure map! SEE...the Hispaniola sail the South Seas!"; based on a book by Robert Louis Stevenson) starring Boris Andreyev (as Long John Silver), Aare Laanemets (as Jim Hawkins), Laimonas Noreika, Algimantas Masiulis, and Juozas Urmanavicius If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we can't be certain that this poster is from this version of this movie, but we think it is extremely likely. In the 1950s to 1970s, it was quite common for studios to take foreign language versions of movies recognizable to U.S. audiences, and then released them in dubbed versions with posters that listed no actors or credits, and tried to trick the audiences into thinking they were seeing an American movie with American actors! Apparently this tactic worked, because it was done for many years. If anyone knows for certain if this poster is from this version of this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that the poster in this auction is one of 110 one-sheets we are auctioning in separate auctions that have something unusual about them. It is that all of these one-sheets (which date from 1968 to 1973) were never folded, which is VERY UNUSUAL for pre-1980 posters. They were found together, and you likely could never find another example of these posters that were never folded. We are 100% certain they are authentic one-sheets that were printed between 1968 and 1973! Note that this is the final part of this unusual collection. The first part (which contained 81 similar posters from different titles) was auctioned by us on February 13th. After these 110 are auctioned, we will have no more of these posters from this collection! Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
