An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Turkish One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) Son of Frankenstein, the classic 1939 Rowland V. Lee Universal monster horror thriller sequel ("Mysterious! Weird! Horrifying!"; "The greatest fear figures in screen history... all in Universal's New cavalcade of horror!"; the third Universal "Frankenstein" movie) starring Basil Rathbone (in the title role as the original Dr. Frankenstein's son), Boris Karloff (in the title role as the Frankenstein monster), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Lionel Atwill, Josephine Hutchinson, and Donnie Dunagan (as Peter von Frankenstein) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Mahmut Yagci Important Added Info: Note that this poster is undated. We are listing it under the original release date of 1939 (the IMDb says that the movie played in Turkey in 1939), but it seems quite possible it could have been released at a later date (although it is clearly a vintage poster and it seems likely that it would date from the 1940s at the latest). If anyone knows more about exactly when this poster is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this Turkish poster measures approximately 27" x 39" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at each crossfold and rough creases across the bottom foldline, and a series of six tiny tears in the vertical foldline just above the bottom crossfold. There was a diagonal crease in the bottom center of the poster running from the girl's chin down to the bottom border. There were some creases, tears, and smudges around the edges of the poster. There was tiny paper loss in the top left corner. There are some scattered black smudges in some small parts of the image, and these seem surely to be a minor printing defect. There were some creases along the other foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. At some point after being linenbacked, the poster got some faint brown stains in the bottom 8" of the left and right borders and across the bottom border, mostly in the excess linen, but slightly in the white borders of the poster (any talented restorer could remove these faint stains without re-backing the poster, and of course, they would not show when the poster is framed). The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
