If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any distance away, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny hole at the top two crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. There was a Canadian censor stamp in the top of the "T" of "THEM" in the title and a 1" tear and creases in the top of the "T" to the left of the stamp. There was a tape stain in the right of the top blank border and a tape stain in the top of the left blank border. There was a tape stain and small paper loss in the bottom of the left blank border and a tape stain with small paper loss in the right of the bottom blank border. Other than the above defects, the poster was in nice condition. The person who linenbacked the poster expertly painted over the censor stamp (or chemically lightened it so much that it is basically gone), but did not do restoration to any of the other minor defects. I would think most collectors would be quite happy to display this poster as is, but a talented restorer could surely touch up the unrestored minor defects without re-backing the poster. Overall, the poster is in nice condition, and has had little actual restoration, except for the removed censor stamp. Learn More about condition grades
