An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) His Auto's Maiden Trip, the 1912 Dell Henderson silent automobile comedy short ("Farce-comedy") starring Edward Dillon, Florence Lee, Charles Murray, John T. Dillon, and Florence Auer. Note that not surprisingly, we could find next-to-no information on this super early Biograph short. It is doubly important historically! Not only is it one of the earliest three-sheets known to exist (it was made at the time when the studios still did not bill ANY actors on the posters), but it also deals with the dawn of the "automobile age", when cars were still primitive, but became the most important thing in American society! Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did very little restoration to the defects described above. Also, someone attached the poster to a wall using some sort of rubber cement on the back of the top and bottom border of the linen, and there is much dried rubber cement on the back of the top and bottom (but it is on the back of the linen and does not affect the poster). Certainly, this poster should be removed from the old linen and re-backed, so bear that in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
