A Circa 1940s (from the first Belgian release) Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 11 1/2" x 16 1/4") (Learn More) Full Confession, the 1939 John Farrow religious Irish Catholic murder crime melodrama ("Come prepared to gasp!"; "Here's a drama in the raw!... Hot, stinging emotional impact in this throbbing human-heart story of a killer ... of the girl he loved ... and the one man who knew his murder secret but could never tell! It's different than anything you've seen before!"; about a Catholic priest who visits a convict, who tells him during confession that in addition to the robbery he was convicted for, he also committed a murder, and the priest of course can say nothing, but then another man is arrested for that murder and sentenced to death, and the priest must decide whether to keep his vows and let an innocent man die, or to break his vows!) starring Victor McLaglen, Sally Eilers, Joseph Calleia, Barry Fitzgerald, and Elisabeth Risdon. Note that this movie of course bears similarities to Alfred Hitchcock's "I Confess", and Victor McLaglen plays the man who actually committed the murder, while Joseph Calleia plays the priest, and Barry Fitzgerald plays the man wrongly convicted of murder (one might have suspected that Fitzgerald played the priest, since just a few years later, he would have his most famous role as a priest in "Going My Way")! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was printed on the back of an old circus poster! During World War II in Belgium, there was a massive paper shortage, and so they used whatever paper they could find and printed the movie posters on the reverse. They often also made the posters smaller, so they could get more posters printed. This practice continued for a couple of years after World War II. Since these posters are original, and since all such posters are printed on the back of maps or other posters, this is not considered a defect by almost all collectors. Also note that this poster was folded across the middle at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There are remnants of a snipe across the top edge as well as creases and scuffs throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
