An Original 1952 (from the first Spanish release of this movie) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Spanish Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) Sunset Boulevard (sometimes spelled as "Sunset Blvd."), the classic 1950 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Hollywood Los Angeles California behind-the-scenes movie-making romantic love triangle crime film noir ("A most unusual picture"; "A Hollywood Story"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring William Holden (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Gloria Swanson (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Erich von Stroheim (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Nancy Olson (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Fred Clark, Lloyd Gough, Jack Webb, Cecil B. DeMille (the legendary director, playing a great cameo role as himself!), Hedda Hopper, Buster Keaton, Anna Q. Nilsson, H.B. Warner, and Franklyn Farnum. This is surely one of the finest movies ever made, with remarkable performances, writing, and direction, and if you haven't seen it, you should! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Lopez Reiz Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds with some slight extra creases and darkening on parts of some foldlines. There were stains in the left and right 6" of the top and bottom foldlines. There were some stains and smudges in the borders with pinholes in the corners and some tiny paper loss in the bottom right blank corner. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. If I owned this great poster (which I have never seen or heard of before), I would likely have a talented restorer remove it from this linen and have it properly re-backed (although it may well be that a restorer could perform additional restoration to the poster without re-backing it, and I could well imagine some collectors being happy to display it as it is).
