GODZILLA video Japanese R80s Kingukongu tai Gojira, mightiest monsters of all! Date Sold 10/27/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Undated (probably 1980s) Re-Release Unfolded Video Rental Store Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20" x 28 1/2" [51 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) Kingu Kongu tai Gojira (released in the U.S. in 1963 as "King Kong vs. Godzilla"), the 1962 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The two mightiest monsters of all time! ...in the most colossal conflict the screen has ever known!"; "All New!"; "Mighty King Kong! Might Godzilla! Now an all mighty all-new motion picture brings them together for the first time in the colossal clash of all time!"; "All New!"; "See! King Kong hurl an entire train to destruction! Godzilla's radioactive flame burn out entire cities! King Kong gouge out a mountainside! Godzilla snatch jets from the skies and smash them to earth!") starring Godzilla, King Kong, Tadao Takashima, Kenji Sahara, Yu Fujiki, and Ichiro Arishima (the English version also stars Michael Keith, Harry Holcombe, James Yagi, Byron Morrow, and Les Tremayne). Note that when I saw this movie in 1963 as a young boy, I was dazzled by the incredible "special effects", but I watched it again recently with my children, and I was amazed at just how feeble the special effects were! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that there is a major disagreement between some experts on this poster! Some say it was created for the video release of this movie, but others say it was for a theatrical re-release. The argument for theatrical is that early tapes were quite expensive (around $130) and were usually sold to video stores, and those video posters should have the release date printed on them (and this poster does not). The experts all agree that this poster is from the 1980s! Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Condition: good to very good. There are some creases and tiny tears and/or tattering along parts of some edges (some of the creases are touched up with colored pencil). Learn More about condition grades
