F-Man, the 1936 Edward F. Cline crime romantic screwball comedy ("Meet the nation's No. 1 Public Enemy of gloom! He made pals of gangsters and arrested 'G' men. He's as nutty as a drug store sundae!"; about a bumbling but likeable young man with a beautiful girlfriend who overlooks his flaws, and he dreams of becoming a "G-Man", which was slang for a federal agent, and he causes so much trouble during his training that he is dubbed an "F-Man" by his understanding but exasperated boss!) starring Jack Haley, Grace Bradley, William Frawley, Adrienne Marden, and Onslow Stevens. Note that it would seem incredibly likely that Mel Brooks based his classic TV show "Get Smart" on this movie, since all of the main elements are present!
