An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Saludos Amigos (Hello Friends), the 1943 Norman Ferguson & Wilfred Jackson Walt Disney Brazil animated animation cartoon comedy 42-minute short feature ("Walt Disney Goes South American in his gayest musical Technicolor feature"; "Donald Duck meets his master... when Joe Carioca, the tropical cut-up.. teaches him that samba rhythm!"; "Get Hep to a new beat - the tropical rhythm of that Samba hit... 'Brazil'"; "It's the gayest of all Disney features!") featuring the voices of Clarence Nash (as Donald Duck) and Jose Oliveira (as Joe Carioca; billed as "Introducing Joe Carioca The Brazilian Jitterbird... who drives Donald wacky with his wisecracks and dizzy doings about town!"; in this unusual 42-minute short feature, real Disney animators tour South America, and they present four pretty unrelated cartoons inspired by their visit, and all set in South America) and starring Walt Disney, Norman Ferguson, and narrated by Frank Graham. Note that early stills identify Joe Carioca as "Jose Carioca". On those same stills, the title is given as "Saludos", and we know that was a working title, and we have seen other stills that say "Saludos, Amigos", so perhaps that was the second working title and then the comma was dropped! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had creases and some tiny tears in the vertical foldline between the middle crossfold and the bottom crossfold and some minor wear on the other folds. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster and there was a 2" tear in the right of the top blank border ending in the white background above the "A" of "American". Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
