An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Joseph in the Land of Egypt, the 1932 George Roland religious Biblical Jewish family relationship melodrama (retelling the Biblical story of Jacob and his twelve sons, including Joseph and his coat of many colors) starring Joseph Green (in the title role as Joseph), Ben Adler (as Jacob), Sigmund Zuckerberg, Herman Serotsky, and Wolf Goldfaden. Note that this is a fascinating movie! Joseph Green was Joseph Greenberg, and all of the credited cast members were Jewish, apparently memories of the Yiddish theater (and apparently the movie was simultaneously released in Yiddish as "Yoysef in Mitsraim"). There were two other "Adlers" credited in the cast besides Ben Adler, Sonya and Ida, and one would think they were surely related to the other famous acting Adlers, but we were unable to quickly locate the connection. Apparently, Joseph Greenberg gave an oral history in 1979 in which he states that this was an old Italian film that he bought the rights to and was dubbed into Yiddish, and if so, then the above actors solely supplied voices! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a single still from this movie, and NO other movie paper, and that still has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the ONLY item from this movie we have ever auctioned! Condition: good. There is tape on the back of all the borders and paper loss in the bottom left blank corner. There are creases and scuffs scattered in the still. Learn More about condition grades
