An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Barkleys of Broadway, the 1949 Charles Walters New York City musical singing-and-dancing theater stage acting romantic comedy ("Joyously together again in MGM's New Technicolor Musical Hit!"; "Two dancing stars go to a gay party... And what looks like romantic trouble ahead!"; "Music by Harry Warren"; "Lyrics by Ira Gershwin") starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers (in the title roles as Josh and Dinah Barkley), Oscar Levant, Billie Burke, Gale Robbins, Jacques Francois, George Zucco, and Clinton Sundberg. Note that this was the last of the ten wonderful movies that Astaire and Rogers made together (they made nine of them between 1933 and 1939, and then ten years later, they made this final movie). The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some extra creases and scuffs in parts of some foldlines. There were some creases and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
