An Original 1976 (from the first release of this movie in the U.K.) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English Double Crown Movie Poster (DC; measures 20" x 30" [51 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Verites et Mensonges (released in the U.S. in 1977 as "F For Fake"), the 1973 Orson Welles French/Iranian/German fraud forgery documentary (about the art of fakery) featuring Orson Welles, Oja Kodar, Elmyr de Hory, Clifford Irving, and Francois Reichenbach NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was printed with black and silver ink that surely scuffs exceptionally easily, and there are many creases and scuffs scattered down the left and right and across the bottom (see our image). Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. The creases and scuffs are VERY noticeable, but the poster still has a very interesting look, but it is up to each bidder to decide if it is something they can "live with".
