An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Thirty-Day Princess, the 1934 Marion Gering romantic mistaken identity comedy (about a European princess who is visiting New York to raise money for her country by selling bonds, but she gets the mumps, and that threatens to ruin the bond selling, so her banker finds a poor actress who happens to look exactly like the princess to pretend to be her!; "...She had him going and coming... in a double romance!") starring Sylvia Sidney, Cary Grant (he was still quite young, but he had already had great success starring opposite Mae West and Marlene Dietrich), Edward Arnold, Henry Stephenson, Vince Barnett, and Robert McWade NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The card had pinholes, creases, tears, and some areas of paper loss around the edges of the card and some creases, smudges, scuffs, and a few pinholes scattered throughout the image. Overall, the card was in fair to good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was well backed by a talented restorer, who did not touch up many of the faint smudges and scuffs (and I agree with that decision, because to do so would have required lots of paint, which would have given the card a "heavily restored" look, and I don't feel the smudges and scuffs are all that distracting, and they help establish that this is a genuine 77 year-old original window card!). Obviously, one would prefer to find an example of this window card that had no defects or restoration, but I do not know if another example of this card exists (or if it does, if the owner would consider parting with it!).
