Paul Champseix artwork of the fortified walls of the city. Note that this poster was created by Chemins de fer d'Orleans et du Midi (Orleans and Midi Railways). In 1934, "Chemins de fer du Midi" merged with "Chemin de fer de Paris a Orleans" to form "Chemin de fer de Paris a Orleans et du Midi", but this poster is missing the mention of "Paris" so we are uncertain when it is from. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had a long tear with smaller tears, creases, and scuffs scattered in the upper part of the image, entering the top of the spire that extends furthest up. There were a number of other tears scattered throughout the image and around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
