An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 40 3/4") (Learn More) Hurly Burly, a 1951 Harold Goodman burlesque strip tease sexploitation comedy vaudeville show ("A Star Studded Cavalcade of Burlesque"; "Clowning! Dancing! Teasing!"; "15 All Time Greats Of The Burlesque Stage") starring Georgia Sothern, Joey Faye, Al Baker, Eddie Lambert, Sammy Smith and Sammy Birch ("The Gab-Happy Boys"), Bert Carr ("Old Rubber-Face Himself!"), Joe Young ("'Baldy' of the Milton Berle Show"), Mandy Kaye ("The Crazy Red-Head"), Joya Sherrill ("Song Mistress of the Double Entendre"), Crystal Ames ("The Striptease Queen!"), and Benny Moore ("Master of the Comedy Dialect"). Note that there is more than one one-sheet for this movie. They are pretty much the same except they have different coloring, and one credits Cinetech and the other credits Mack Enterprises. Given that movies like this tended to play in small towns for many years (usually in late night shows), it does not seem unusual that there would be more than one similar poster for it, and it seems impossible to say if one predates the other. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 27 1/2" x 40 3/4". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had paper loss at the bottom crossfold and in the left 3" of the middle foldline. There was slight darkening along the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did only slight restoration, and mostly left the poster "as is".
