An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Harmon of Michigan, the 1941 Charles Barton college football sports biography ("The greatest grid star of them all... in a fast and furious thriller!"; "The mighty All-American star in an all-action thriller!") starring Tom Harmon (playing himself!), Anita Louise, Forest Evanshevski (billed as "Harmon's Great Team-Mate"), Oscar O'Shea, and Warren Ashe. Note that Tom Harmon was an extremely popular football player for the University of Michigan Wolverines. After his college career, his popularity caused Hollywood to make this biography of him, with Harmon playing himself. Soon after, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and was a war hero. After the war, he briefly played for the Los Angeles Rams, but his war injuries prevented him from being a major professional star. He later became an important radio broadcaster, and married movie star Elyse Knox and was the father of movie and TV star Mark Harmon, Christie Harmon, and Kelly Harmon. Many football fans consider him among the absolute finest college football players of all time! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this one-sheet! Not only that, but the only posters we have ever auctioned were two inserts, and no other posters of any kind in all our years of auctioning. People who collect sports posters are always surprised to find how difficult it is to find any poster from this title. Even though it is from the 1940s, posters from it are more rare than many 1930s and even 1920s sports titles. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a partial extra vertical fold next to the bottom quarter of the vertical fold, with some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds.
