A Vintage Autographed Softcover Book (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" [14 x 22 cm]; 230 pages) (Learn More) Marc Lawrence was a character actor of the 1930s to 1950s, who appeared in many B-movies (often as a criminal), and in a few major movies as well, including Key Largo and The Asphalt Jungle (as Cobby). He was caught up in the blacklisting and appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee, where he named names (it was also revealed that he had had a mental breakdown and been hospitalized just before giving his testimony). An interesting footnote is that his daughter, Toni Lawrence, was once married to Billy Bob Thornton! Marc passed away in 2005 at the age of 95. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by Marc Lawrence on the first title page! Our consignor obtained this autograph in person when he met Mr. Lawrence in Palm Springs. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
