Ince silent anti-war religious fantasy melodrama ("Thos H. Ince's Million Dollar Spectacle"; "The Greatest Production of Modern Times"; it is an allegory about a king in an unnamed country, who has a submarine, and he orders the count in charge of it to sink an enemy ship, and the count refuses, and sinks the submarine instead, and he survives, but in limbo between life and death, where he meets Jesus in the flesh, who tells him to return to the living and preach peace, which he does, and that causes him to be sentenced to death, but then Jesus appears again!; it has been suggested that this film helped to get Woodrow Wilson re-elected as president because it reinforced his campaign promises to keep the United States out of World War I) starring Howard C. Hickman, Enid Markey, Lola May, Kate Bruce, J. Frank Burke, and George Fisher NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are hand-colored cards. In the days of silent movies prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the cards one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each card is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match. Condition: very good. Note that these lobby cards have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they have never had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
