An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Mary Pickford was a Canadian actress from the 1900s to the 1930s. She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this special poster has a FACSIMILE autograph that is within the printing (it has NOT been personally autographed). Note that this poster is a special personality poster created for theaters showing Mary Pickford movies in the 1910s. It has not been backed or restored, and it could conceivably be rolled, but it would damage it because it is fragile, so we will have to send it in an oversized flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has darkened, and it has stains around the edges in the blank borders. It has small paper loss in the top blank border. It can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one could choose to have restoration performed (it has never had any restoration). Learn More about condition grades
