An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26" x 40" [66 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Radio Mad, the 1924 J.A. Howe silent Pathecomedy family relationship screwball comedy short ("Hal Roach presents the Spat Family") starring Sidney D'Albrook, Laura Roessing, Frank Butler, and Jill Rainsford. Note that this was a series of 24 comedy shorts that were released monthly between 1923 and 1925. Each centered on the dysfunctional relationship of fussy "J. Tewksberry Spat", his combative wife, and her crude brother who lived with them and made the husband's life miserable! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three lobby cards from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this one-sheet! Note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26" x 40" [66 x 102 cm]. Condition: good to very good. The poster was kraftbacked (see above). After the poster was kraftbacked, someone trimmed a total of 1" from the poster horizontally and vertically (likely 1/2" from each border), and only blank white paper was affected. The poster had small paper loss at the middle crossfold and tiny bits of paper loss in the 2" to the left of that, and it had pinholes in the corners. Any restorer can remove the poster from the kraft backing, and add back the missing blank white paper during the linenbacking process, and the poster will display wonderfully.
