Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three different incomplete sets of lobby cards (each in their own auction) where the owner chose to have each of the cards linenbacked. This is not often done by collectors, but it is a reasonable way to improve the appearance of cards that need restoration, although many restorers nowadays paperback lobby cards instead. Please bear in mind that these cards have been linenbacked, and that there is a thin strip of excess linen around each edge of the card so while the cards measure 11" x 14" the cards plus the linen measure slightly larger. Note also that United Artists produced two different sets of cards for this double-bill release. They are pretty identical to each other EXCEPT that one set has full-color images on the scenes, and the other has black & white images! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. All five cards had a varying amount of border defects and varying amounts of scuffs in each image, with much more scuffing in the close-up image of Connery and Froebe and each card had darkened somewhat. Overall, the cards varied from "good" to "good to very good" condition prior to linenbacking. The cards were pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, so bear that in mind before bidding on these cards.
