An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Last Command, the 1928 Josef von Sternberg silent Russia historical military adventure melodrama (about a Russian general for the Czar's army who lives in poverty after he has fought on the losing side, and an old enemy hires him to play himself in a movie version of the Russian Revolution!) starring Emil Jannings (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; the award was also for his performance in the 1927 film The Way of All Flesh, and this was the only year that multiple roles were considered), Evelyn Brent, William Powell, Jack Raymond, and Fritz Feld NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good to very good. The card had tears, stains, and tiny paper loss in the bottom of the right border, and a tear and tiny paper loss in the let of the bottom border that slightly went into the image background. Someone put conservation tape on the back of those areas, and then performed slight amateur restoration to the front of those areas. The rest of the card is in pretty nice condition, and the card can certainly be displayed as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
