An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40 1/2" [69 x 103 cm]) (Learn More)

The Hair Raid, the 1948 black African American musical comedy ("A Patterson and Jackson Laugh Riot"; obviously a comic parody of "air raids", but we can find no information) starring the comedy team of Warren Patterson and Al Jackson, Elma Lopez, Don Tatum, and Clyde Jones. Note that it is not unusual for us to encounter movies where we can't find any information about the film itself, because there are a lot of movies from all decades where almost no information is available. But what is especially unusual about this movie is that there are three billed actors besides Patterson & Jackson who we can find absolutely nothing about, and Patterson & Jackson only appear to be credited for the 1948 movie "Killer Diller" (where they performed a parody of The Ink Spots classic, "If I Didn't Care"). About the only thing we know is that Patterson & Jackson were two large black African American comics/singers who appeared at black theaters in the 1940s and 1950s, where they were billed as "Two Tons of Song and Mirth". The poster has "1948" written in pen on the back, so we assume it is from that year. If anyone knows more about this movie or any of the billed actors, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is not only the only poster we have ever seen on this title, but we have never seen or heard of ANYTHING else on this title, and can't even find out any information about the movie itself! Also note that this poster measures 27" x 40 1/2" [69 x 103 cm].

Condition: good to very good. The top and bottom borders were folded back at one time. There is separation at the top and bottom of the vertical foldline, with pinholes, tears, and some tiny paper loss around the edges, with a tape repair on the back of the right border that has bled through to the front. There are some tears on the vertical foldline and separation at the top crossfold. The poster has many border defects, but the image area has few, and after a simple linenbacking, the poster will look great!
