Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signatures to likely be authentic. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.
UPDATED 02/17/2023: Note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that he knows exactly when and where this great title card was signed! It occurred in October of 1979 at Grauman's Chinese Theater (known as Mann's Chinese Theater at that point) during the American Film Institute's "Best Remaining Seats" film festival. The festival concluded with a restored version of Lost Horizon, and Capra, Jaffe and Wyatt were in attendance. The collector (who had loaned his original Lost Horizon posters so that the theater could display them) actually witnessed the signing of the card, which was done for the late Bob Colman (who owned the "Hollywood Poster Exchange", which sold the legendary "Cozy Collection"). So these autographs were not only obtained in person on the same day, but also by one of the legends of the movie poster hobby! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. The card has darkened, typical of Columbia lobby cards of this period. It has a few pinholes, tiny paper loss, and tiny surface paper loss around the edges, with some faint smudges, creases, and stains around the edges and just a few within the image. It has a piece of masking tape on the back of each corner, but they were not put there for a restoration purpose, and they don't affect the front (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
