An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Sweet Smell of Sex, the 1965 Robert Downey Sr. sexploitation crime melodrama ("A drama of people who claw their way to the bottom"). Note that this movie is sometimes confused with the 1965 film All Men Are Apes, because IMDB lists The Sweet Smell of Sex as a possible script title. However, this is a separate film which was directed by Downey Sr. as a way to pay for the hospital bills from the birth of his son, Robert Downey Jr. Supposedly, Downey Sr. has disavowed this film, but we may never discover why as it is considered a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. We have only auctioned two in all our years of auctioning and the last time was in 2017 and it sold for $256!). Note also that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was tri-folded only. It has minor fold and border wear however there is approximately 2 1/2" of separation at the lower crossfold (with some tiny surface paper loss).
