She was "Miss Kansas" in 1948 and came in third in the Miss America Pageant that year. She was signed by John Ford and appeared in two of his best movies, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and The Searchers. She was then signed by Alfred Hitchcock, who saw her as "the new Grace Kelly", and she appeared in two of his movies, Psycho and the Wrong Man, and she was also in several episodes of his TV show. She was supposed to star in Vertigo, but she had to withdraw when she became pregnant, and she had four children in the 1950s and 1960s, and that severely curtailed her career, which likely would have included many more memorable film roles. As of 2021, Miles is still alive at the age of 91! Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was used in French speaking parts of Canada, but it was printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So it is an original still from , but it was printed for use in parts of Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine.
