A 1919 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

Are You a Mason, the 1915 Thomas N. Heffron silent mistaken identity marriage family relationship screwball comedy ("The celebrated comedian John Barrymore in Leo Ditrichstein's sensational farce success."; "In motion pictures"; "From the play by Leo Ditrichstein"; a wacky story of a man who gets drunk and goes into the wrong house, thinking it is his own, and he tries to explain it to his wife by saying that he was wanting to join the Masons, and this was the initiation, and he is now "in", and then her parents come over, and it turns out her father has been pretending to be a Mason for many years, because he is embarrassed he is not one, and the two men are both pretending to be members, so they must now make the secret signs to each other, and neither knows the other is pretending!) starring John Barrymore, Helen Freeman, Charles Dixon, Harold Lockwood, and W. Dickinson. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see!

Condition: fair. There is deterioration in the bottom and the bottom right corner of the slide, but it does not have a large effect on the image. We don't know how easy or hard it would be to restore this slide, so bear that in mind before placing a bid on it.
