Snow's Hunting Big Game in Africa with Gun and Camera, the 1922 H.A. Snow & Sidney Snow silent Africa hunting sports animal documentary ("Nothing like it on Earth!"; "Biggest of all shows"; "2 years of adventures squeezed into 2 hours of thrills"; "See what the camera caught!"; "'A devastating stampede of trumpeting elephants charging the camera.'"; "'A ferocious leopard hurls itself at the dauntless picture-hunters.'"; "'An enraged rhinoceros charges headlong into the eye of the camera.'"; "'An astounding spectacle of a troop of elephants in the crater of an extinct volcano.'"; "'Hundreds of marvelous impala in their flight actually leap over the highest trees.'"; "'Disturbed with her cubs a man-eating lioness caught in a 10 foot close-up.'"; "'The wart-hog, the pansy bone-head of the forest, charges into the flivver with unexpected results - and for once the Ford isn't rattled.'"; "The sensation of a hundred thrilling pictures condensed into one marvelous entertainment"; "Presented by Carl Laemmle") featuring H.A. Snow, and Sidney Snow. Note that the father/son team of H.A. Snow and Sidney Snow were inspirations for the character of Carl Denham in King Kong. Also, biologist and nature photographer Carl Akeley denounced this film for misrepresenting Africa and for faking some scenes. Artist: McGinn Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a three-sheet (which sold for $2,217) and a few lobby cards (15 and 16 years ago) from this movie until we received this lobby card, which has wonderful border art, and a main scene that is also wonderful art, showing a cameraman photographing a charging rhino! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. There is a tiny pinhole in each right blank corner. Otherwise, the card is in really excellent condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
