An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12 1/4" x 15" [31 x 38 cm]; 14 pages). Also included is an ad supplement that has one page. (Learn More) Gunn (released in France as "Peter Gunn: Detective Special"), the 1967 Blake Edwards detective crime mystery thriller ("Gunn explodes in his first big screen color caper!"; "'Gunn'... Number One!"; "Give a girl a Gunn and she'll shoot the works! Gunn's got a broad view of things... especially when it comes to a case of murder as Gunn explodes in his for big screen color caper!"; "Based upon characters created by Blake Edwards"; based on Blake Edwards' classic spy TV series "Peter Gunn", with a screenplay by Blake Edwards and William Peter Blatty) starring Craig Stevens (in the title role as Peter Gunn), Laura Devon, Edward Asner, Albert Paulsen, Sherry Jackson, and Helen Traubel ("as Mother"). Note that Blake Edwards made this feature film by greatly expanding the pilot episode of the TV series of the same name, which had already aired. Because it was a feature film, he was able to include subjects that could not have been shown on TV. Also note that he wanted William Friedkin to direct this movie, but Friedkin turned it down because he didn't like the script, which was especially ironic several years later, when Friedkin directed William Peter Blatty's "The Exorcist"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!
