Note that there are at least four different styles of this poster, with different art by different artists, but all have the same layout, which includes a blank white area at bottom where a military recruiter would write in the location of the recruiting station. Note that we have seen several places that date this poster to 1914 exactly, and one of the four styles does have a 1914 after the artist's signature, but there is no saying that the other three are also 1914. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. It had some creases and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
