Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned a slightly lesser example of this glass slide on July 11, 2004 for $1,225! This example of the glass slide is superior to that one, because this one contains the extremely rare protective panels that go on the front and back of the glass slide (see our image below for an image of the front protective panel). These panels were normally always thrown away and not saved. We have only seen one other glass slide with these protective panels intact! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. The glass slide itself is in wonderful condition. The cardboard holder has rust stains at the staples, typical of many glass slides. Otherwise, it is in wonderful condition, and it even has the protective panels (see above for more about these)! Learn More about condition grades
