An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) She Snoops to Conquer, the 1931 Fred Guiol police crime comedy short (about a member of the "Police Woman's Squad" out to get the mashers hitting on women around town and new recruit Daphne is too dedicated and gets herself arrested in a compromising situation) starring Daphne Pollard. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that Daphne Pollard was born in 1891 in Australia, and never grew to more than 5 feet tall, and as a child, she was part of the "Pollard Lilliputian Opera Company". Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1907 and she was in vaudeville for a year, and then appeared on Broadway. When sound movies began, she moved to Hollywood and she signed with Mack Sennett, but then switched to Hal Roach, where she appeared in a number of his movies including ones with Laurel and Hardy. She only made a few movies after 1936, and was mostly on Broadway. She passed away in 1978 at the age of 86. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. We have never auctioned even a single poster or lobby card from this short until we received this one-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time. It had tiny paper loss at several crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts just a few folds. It had small paper loss in the lower right blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
