An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Forbidden Cargo, the 1925 Tom Buckingham silent Prohibition era romantic crime melodrama (based on the story by Fred Myton; about a woman who runs an alcohol smuggling operation, running rum from the Bahamas to the U.S. via boat; she does so because her father was discharged from the Navy based on false charges; a government agent assigned to stop her and her evil first mate ends up breaking up the operation, but he falls in love with her, and is able to get her and her father cleared!) starring Evelyn Brent, Robert Ellis, Boris Karloff, and Jack Kenny. Note that the villainous first mate, "Pietro Castillano", is played by Boris Karloff, in one of his early major roles! Note that this is one of Karloff's early roles, and movie paper from it is virtually nonexistent. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. We have only previously auctioned a single lobby card from this movie, and NO other movie paper of any kind, until we received this still, so clearly this is one of the most rare Boris Karloff titles there is!
