An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) How To Play Football, the 1944 Jack Kinney Walt Disney family animated animation cartoon college football sports comedy short (produced by Walt Disney) featuring the voices of Pinto Colvig (as Goofy), and Billy Bletcher (as the narrator). Note that this was one of ten "How to..." cartoons created by Walt Disney between 1942 and 1953. Each was a "pseudo-instructional" documentary-like cartoon, but of course, each quickly devolved into slapstick, especially since the star was Goofy! The first cartoon in this series was "How to Play Baseball", and the most popular cartoons in this series are the ones that revolve around sports, especially the ones for baseball, football, and golf. Not surprisingly, the one-sheets for these cartoons are extremely rare, likely because they were purchased by fans of those sports decades ago and have never returned to the poster collecting hobby! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this cartoon short is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a single 8x10 from this cartoon (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this one-sheet! But not only that, we have only auctioned a single still from How to Play Golf and we have only auctioned one one-sheet from How to Play Baseball, and that was in 1994, and it auctioned for $10,350! This How to Play Football one-sheet is surely among the absolute most rare and desirable cartoon movie posters from the 1940s! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some separation in the vertical fold between the top and bottom crossfolds, with minor wear on the rest of the folds. It had pinholes around the edges, with paper loss in the right of the top blank border extending down into the yellow background. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
