Date Sold 4/15/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The World of Abbott and Costello, the 1965 Sidney Miller comedy documentary ("The Greatest Laughs of the world's greatest laughmakers are all in... The World of Abbott and Costello"; "The funniest comedians since the world began"; "The Greatest Laughs of the world's greatest laughmakers are all in... The World of Abbot and Costello"; "Narration written by Gene Wood") featuring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Tom Ewelland, Margaret Hamilton, Bela Lugosi, and narrated by Jack E. Leonard. Note that the one-sheet for this compilation movie pictures Abbott and Costello in baseball uniforms performing their most famous routine, "Who's On First", and it is believed that this, and the 1945 movie "The Naughty Nineties", are the only two Abbott & Costello movies to have posters that picture this most famous comedy routine! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set, and 24 others (which are each in their own auction) come to us from a collector who started collecting DECADES ago, and at that time he was looking to acquire every Abbott and Costello lobby card! We are offering 25 complete and incomplete Abbott and Costello sets from his collection in 25 separate auctions. For those who like Abbott and Costello (and who doesn't?) this is a great opportunity to buy lobby cards from many of their movies! Note also that these six cards include the great Dracula and Frankenstein lobby cards! Each of these are a great alternate way to get an image of Abbott & Costello and a monster in a lobby card at a fraction of the price of the originals from "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein"! Condition: very good. There is what appears to be faint scuffing in some parts of the solid colored areas of the image(s). This is a fairly common printing defect on lobby cards, inserts and half-sheets of this era (it had something to do with the way they were printed in 1965). The cards are otherwise in nice condition and they have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they never have had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
