Important Added Info: Note 2001: A Space Odyssey opened in 70mm in 1968 in a roadshow release. In 1969 it went into wide release in 35mm, and the movie was not as successful. The film was then given an entirely new 70mm New York City ad campaign in March 1970. That proved successful and the movie received a national release in 1970 (part of the continuous first release since 1968), and the one-sheet for this release shows the star child (but it has less color than the "wildposting" one-sheet used in New York). Also, this poster has a 1970 copyright date at bottom right, but has an NSS stamp of 1968 on the back. It is commonly accepted by collectors that this poster was indeed printed in 1970, but that it was mistakenly stamped with the original NSS number on the back in 1970. Condition: very good. There is a tack hole in each corner. There are minor creases in the foldlines. There is marker writing on the back that slightly bleeds through in the center of the title area.
